    Default Card slot cleaning


    Terry pool asked a question on humminbird site on face book. Having trouble with his card slots not working. Got to thinking about it and how to clean. Found this little Gem that we all probably ought to have. Never used one but sure going to order one.

    That's a neat idea ...

    I wonder what the material is made from that will clean the contacts without actually damaging them ... ??

    Not sure Rickie, I'm thinking mabe something similar to those old head cleaning tapes for cassette recorders. Going to call best buy in a short to see if they have them. Rather drive to town than pay more in shipping than it costs. Will let you know.

    It looks like same as pencil eraser material. Of course you can't get a pencil in an SD card slot.....LOL.....so that item is way to go. Doesn't hurt to clean the SD card contacts themselves with a pencil eraser. Eraser material works great on cleaning grime and oils off of contact points on cards and connectors. Used the eraser material for cleaning cards....connectors......on radars and missiles for 38 years....it works great.
