    Not trying to steal the thread, but since Matt mentioned it, what is a warmouth really? I have caught them all my life and my father-in-law had some in a pond on his place that grew to be as big as a small bass (10-11"). Are they a hybrid between a Crappie and a Bass?

    Lepomis gulosus is the scientific name. They are their own species, not a hybridization of two other species.
