Appreciation pays off.
Several months of trial and error, reading countless posts and watching more videos and tutorials I can count, I finally have the confidence to tie a jig and catch fish. If I had questions I always knew someone had asked that question before so I would go through the thread and always found what I was looking for. All the information I've learned from yall has made me a better tyer, fisherman, to have patience and more importantly confidence to use something I made and catch crappie!
Even though I never asked questions , I would like to thank everyone for the information and knowledge I've received form the great community! Hopefully one of these days I can pass that on.
I dont have a camera yet to post pics of my jigs, my phone and tablet dont take pics very well, so a camera is the next thing on my jig tying list. Yall were right this is a very expensive hobby but I enjoy every minute of it!

I'm in the same boat, and have just recently got into tying my own. Right now, I am still
in the studying stage reading about everything I can on this forum and you tube to learn
as much as I can before I tie even one jig. And your right about the expense, but I think
it will be well worth the effort in the feeling we'll get when we catch that first fish on

You too bud, it's definitely worth it in the end. I've got to the point where I don't even worry about what I've spent money wise and I still keep on buying more stuff lol. It's great to have a community like this to learn from and help each other out.

When I first started tying Jigs I was a teenager back in the early 60s we did not have any videos or anything else to go by so I had to learn by trial and error. the biggest thrill of my life is when I caught my first crappie on my first jig that definitely started a new hobby for me and I've been added for many years. and I will be doing this until I am not here any longer it has been a lifetime enjoyment for me.

Well Bob I'm sure the good Lord will let you bring your tying supplies and poles with you, I know I'll have mine packed with me! I've spent countless hours and days fishing different color combos finding out which ones did or didn't work, even though some days I never caught one single fish, I still stayed out there all day.
I've learned a lot from you skip and I appreciate all you do and knowledge you pass on here as well as others I've learned a lot from Too.

I'm with snake River on this one. When I first started tying it was with white chicken feathers on a plain hook that worked very well. Now Bob is the master and I just use his jigs.
