We were fishing on South end and Team Bunting came in. Watching them spider rig was like watching a machine. I had caught a couple of sandies in the area they were fishing and watched in case they got a hold of one. Was going to see how they handled the mess they make if they tied into one, but they didn't. They caught some dink crappie but I was amazed at the way they went about their business. Very slow and meticulous.
We had a blast , Drank a few cold ones at the motel with the Missouri corn sponsored guys and a couple of guys from NW. Kansas that weren't in it,got to visit with Charlie and Kevin Rogers for an hour or so , them two are a class act , good way to break in that new bass cat , even got to visit with Barry back at the motel for a bit , good to see him back in Oklahoma even if it was just to fish We started the morning great , spider rigging 3" beavertails black and pink and pumpkin chart . in 12 foot of water 6 foot deep first fish was a 1.85 but ended up dropping her eggs in the live well and on the carpet ended up at 1.81 , second fish was a 1.7 male and got a lot of eater size so we went to my second spot and nothing , went to start the boat and the battery was dead so swapped it with a trolling battery and went back to where we started and Wally was there ,oh well , don't leave biting fish to find more fish ! ended the day by breaking off one of my spider rig stands and doing a flip into the water good thing it was 69 deg.and I still say my wife pushed me in but we had more fun than the law allows !!

We had a great time and enjoyed meeting new friends. Darrell had crappie camp obligations and I so I fished with a friend from work. I two poled beaver bottoms and slim sticks and Chad used BG baby shads. We also dipped buck brush and found lots of little males. Females were scattered in 4-10 ft. and hard to come by. For mid April on Eufaula, it was a tough tough bite. We stayed away from Gaines because the mouth of it was milky white. I probably should have went back further in it and checked the clarity, but if didn't pan out, it was gonna waste too much time. So we fished Crowder, Rock, and Coal Creek. I havnt really fished with anyone besides DStreet in a long time, and found it difficult to adjust to a new partner and boat, on tournament day. We made it work though and just kept pecking away. Darrell and myself fish pretty fast and Chad likes to fish small areas very slowly. Chad used little 1/16 oz jig heads while I used big dark beaver bottom baits on brightly painted orange 1/4 oz heads. Both techniques worked, and we were fortunate to weigh in 9.9 lbs. for 6th overall. our biggest fish weighed 1.77 lbs and I believe tied for third largest of the tournament, and was caught dragging a minnow rig behind the boat. We had an absolute blast and thank everyone for their friendship.
