Nice looking fish. You're the first person I've heard using road runners long lining on the Big G. May have to give it a try.

Caught fish today - only 8 of them, but they were all keepers. Long lining Roadrunner jigs (chartreuse, black, chartreuse w/gold blade) and caught them in 12-14 feet of water. All were females and after examining the egg sacs there was only one fish that had a brown egg sac; the rest were yellow with a network of blood vessels. Looked healthy and ready to spawn. Here's a picture of the two largest.

My fishing buddy bought some at Wally World to try and low and behold, they worked fairly well. Matter of fact, while he was waiting for me to arrive at the ramp he caught a 5 pound largemouth right off the ramp. I tried BG blue thunder for a while but when he pulled his fourth one in, I changed up and caught fish.
I have found over the years that the White Crappie are much more likely to bite those than the Blacks are.
Road runners will catch both species

That's two nice uns
Every day is a holiday and every meal is a picnic.
Our club (Coosa River Crappie Club) fished a tournament out of South Sauty/Langston Ramp Saturday the 23rd. Pulled jigs for a while w/o much success. Water was 68.5 so I put on the Bandit 300's and wound up catching 12 keepers (10-14") fish. Couldn't believe crappie would hit cranks this early in the season. Fish caught in 12-20' range and were scattered.
