    Default Wateree 4-22-16 report

Well I left the house to go crappie fishing caught 6 crappie early. Then happen to find some cat fish spawning. I just sat there and had a time catching them on my crappie rods. Was able to land one that was 30" long.

I don't think I have ever heard of catching cats on a bed. Learn something new every day. I'm not sure I would have recognized what it was.

The catfish were in and around the grass that was about 3' deep. You could also see huge carp rolling and swimming up and down the bank behind them in the shallow water, fins sticking out.Ether spawning or eating catfish eggs,I don't know.

Wateree is turning into a catfish factory. Congrats on the big haul.

Obviously catfish do spawn but I thought they did it in deeper water. Very well Could be they were just in there eating the crappie that should have just hatched out

Catfish are cavity nesters and can be found around riprap or large rocks when the water temps near 75. They spawn right in the rocks.
