Your kidding! I've never fished for them but may have to try this week coming while i'm on vacation. That's a lot of fish. Ray are they good table fare? How long of a trip is it to Stump Hole? Thanks for sharing.

One of my buds has been catching a cooler full of nice fish every day this week. Stumphole area fishing worms on the bottom.
He never keeps females that are full of roe, so many of the larger fish he caught were released.
One day their cooler was so full they had to use a stringer.

You can always tell when the shell cracker are biting, not a parking place can be found at any of the landings on the upper end of the lake. Nice haul, congrats to all who did the catching.

One rod, one jig, one fish at a time.
Mark, it is about 60 miles from my house to Stumphole. Ink is correct about the parking lots being full. They are very similar in taste to Bluegill but run larger. Henry released several females that would push 2# or more. Males averaged about a pound. He fishes with a 10 ft. bream buster, no rod and reel for him.

10 ft. bream buster with cork or on bottom? Bait? Thanks
I see now, worms. Nightcrawlers?
He did not use a cork, but kept slack out of the line by holding the rod. He and Inkdabber are two of the most intense fisherman I've ever seen, like every cast is going to be a hit. Guess that is why they are successful. He was sitting in the middle of his Jon boat with a guy on either side and he was catching 3 to their 1.
Baby nightcrawlers torn in half are good, but he was using red woms we got from raking leaves around on his lot at Stumphole.

Thanks Ray. I wonder if Mr. Cromer has gone yet?
No I haven't, I was out of town for 4 days and when I returned, I've been battling a back problem from an operation I had 55 years ago.
