Thread: Oconee Thurs 4/21/16 in the wind

Well anybody that went fishing Thurs can tell you that is was a rough windy day. I put in and was at fishing area about 0830 and had planned to start fishing in 17 to 20 and start searching but the wind was blowing so bad that by the time I started putting long rods out I was in 4 FOW and caught 2 nice males while trying to keep boat straight and off the bank. So I listened to the fish and continued searching the bank. Fish were scattered but some were still on bank. We trolled about a hundred miles and wore me out. As usual Minn Kota power drive 55 did a great job today pulling Fisher 1710. We stayed in same creek all day trying to stay out of the worst of the wind. We finished with 35, big fish 12.5, 90% males and most were in the 10.5 to 11.5. Pulled jiffy jigs, Popsicle, Fire Tiger, Acid Rain and best was John Deere with sparkle. Will probably toon night fish next trip.
