    Default Dale Hollow shellcrackers

Fished Dale Hollow today. These are not Dale Hollow Lake's best...these are not my best...but it is the first of these for the year for me as I have been tearing up the smallmouth. Now I like catching big Smallies on 2# test but this right here is what I live for. Found the shellcracker on the flats in 7 feet of water. Caught them at will.....dozens of them. It was a great day of fishing. Also found some Gills. The water temps are 64 degrees. These fish were not on the bed. They have moved up shallow in anticipation of the spawn. All fish caught on a Bison colored Trout Magnet on a 1/16 ounce jig head with a #8 hook using SOS 2# test line. Rod was Yamaga Blanks Blue Current TZ Jig Head Special 6' 10' UL rod. Today was a ton of fun. My good spring continues....life is good!

    Regards

Good crackers. Never did get to the hollow, but went by it a bunch of times up route 111.

Caught dozens past couple of weeks....16-20 inches. This past Friday my son and I had 24 in one day on Center Hill. Here is the only Smallie from today....on 2# test and a Trout Magnet. But I would much rather catch good Gills and shell crackers.
