4/17/16 fished 11 to 5.
water muddy, air temp 70
water temp 73
mostly cloudy
marked scattered fish mostly 5 to 7 ft deep
but no bait balls seen
catfish caught on crawfish colored crank bait
also fished jigs and shiners at 3 to 5 ft o water and noted two bites but the shiners were not missing...so as usual...baffled
The catfish was exciting because I saw and heard the school of fish on the ff right before she hit like a freight train..Thanks catfish...you made my day.![]()

Man dat water is MUDDY. In water like that I would look for the fish to be very shallow. If there are fishable tree tops you could probably find crappie in or around them fishing often less than a foot deep. That'd be my first place to look.

Muddy, muddy, muddy, to say the least. A few days ago we drove to Gonzales to the outlet and every stream of water we crossed looked just like that. The water around here is also close to that color but not quite. Today I found some slightly clear water in a dead end canal where we caught the bluegills. Seeing water that muddy, I don't think I would have launched the boat. But then again since you drove over there you just as soon give it a try.
