Default Big G: Roseberry Report 15 Apr

Hit Roseberry for a few hours late afternoon yesterday, 1500-1700. Water temp was 66.5-68.3!!! Thought for sure they would have been in there, but apparently they have already moved on. Did not catch a single crappie in there. The bream and shellcrackers were already on the banks and I caught several in the grass as well. Bream and crackers are healthy! The grass is starting to come up in the bay so there is plenty of cover for them. Tried deep and shallow with no takers. Also had one nice 3 lbs bass while trolling, that was fun! Water clarity was only 15-18" very tough conditions with all that wind. Will we ever get a break this spring?

I'm of the opinion that the grass kill off will hurt crappie fishing in Roseberry for years.

Lake Purdy used to be loaded with bream and crackers when I was a kid. That was many years ago but I would bet that they can be found. Thought about renting a boat and trying them out soon.

I like bream better than crappie anyway. They have a sweet taste like no other fish. Good report Bod.

Yea, I think the grass kill has really effected that place. The water color was off from when the grass was better in there.
