Thread: Toledo Bend (boat trials)

Got boat out of shop yesterday. Put in near Oak Ridge Park just to mainly run the boat to check it out. Ran up river almost to Logansport and boat did well. Boy am I a happy camper!!!!!!! Just happen to have four jig poles in the boat and the jig box. Well ya know what that means. Haven't been in this part of the river since the flood of March 8th. So many trees have fallen in the river which will make a great deal more structure to fish. Caught 4 good crappie and 5 throw backs. After I got near the launch, gave the fish to some folk fishing from the bank. Ran into a friend at the launch fishing from pier, put him into the boat and we caught 4 more slab crappie. Gave them to my friend. Great day. Boat performed well. Total catch of 8 crappie and one blue cat. Life is good..............and getting gooder...............
