    Default Rabon

Ok, its been way too windy for me to fish so I got up this morning and the wind was still. I headed to Rabon and the water was like glass. I thought to myself, this is a dream. The first 2 fish were solid 1 3/4 lb. slabs. So I continued on that pattern. Nothing. Picked up a few dinks later on and then it happened. That dang wind came around the bend like a wild fire and I just couldn't catch anymore. I fought it for a while but finally came on home around 2:30. Did catch a kitty that weighed around 3 lbs. I missed the bank fishing because of the wind. I think I am gonna just sell all of my crap and do something else. ok, rant over.

Should have been with us Saturday. One day it will die down and then be so hot you will be wishing for the wind

Don is right! This wind has been rough lately, but here in a few months we'll pray for a breeze!! I went Sunday morning and showed up severely underdressed. Let's just say, my trip was over quick!! That little 10 mph wind on top of a cold morning had me back on the trailer in a hurry. I've fished in single digit temps and don't think I've ever gotten as cold as I was Sunday LOL I had intentions of shooting docks but found that pretty difficult with numb hands habaha

Good report Tim. Good to hear you caught a couple nice crappie. I have not even been on the lake this year but had planned to fish it this week. I thought the bank spawn would be over but hope to find some deeper. Beside, it is getting that time of the year when I have my flyrod with me just in case

Wind can play havoc on all trolling techniques. Learning other techniques can save the day on occasion. Casting or vertically jigging docks and shoreline cover can keep you fishing on the windiest of days. Congrats on your catch!
