    Default FF question

Hummingbird 787ci. New GPS puck, brand new ducer. Getting bad depth readings n although I know I was going it a straight line n verified by my 997, it showed me going it circles n the depth reading wasn't happning. Just kept blinking or reading 400-800 feet in 12-25 fow. Is the 787 shot? I restored defaults 4-5 times no help. Worked great the first hour then the problems started. Yes, I unhooked it, turned it off n on. Everything you could think of. I bought it used 4-5 years ago

You might revert to an older version of software as a last resort ...

sideimagingsoft doesn't list the versions for the 787ci ...but HB should be able to give it to you ...

Next time it starts doing that try shutting off the other sonar. If you were running both sonars at the same time on your boat it could have been trying to pick up the other sonars ping which will make it just go crazy with depth readings.

DonDon; I hope by now you have the problem solved. If not try your sonar on someone else's boat and see if this problem still happens. Also never hurts to call Humminbird customer service(1-800-633-1468) and tell them the problem they are very good and they maybe able to answer your problem right over the phone.
