Nice, the wind was terrible today but that's not a bad hall buddy.

I fished Bradford on Redstone Arsenal today, the wind started out brutal and just kept getting worse all day. I’d planned to spider rig but the wind was about 10MPH at daylight from the north with stronger gust. I ended up single pole jigging laydowns, isolated brush and lily pad edges. I kept half a limit for the freezer, returning my remaining Crappie the rest of the day. I caught scattered fish and fought the wind all day never finding any concentrations of Crappie, but continually catching fish. Looks like the typical post spawn scattering and recovery.
I decided after lunch to search for some gills, finally located a bunch in prespawn mode and kept a limit. Best bait for the Crappie was a 1/16oz Bobby Garland in Pink and Pearl. Gills came from a 1/32oz spinner with a white, 1 inch twister tail. The was clear with visibility of about two feet and 61 degrees.

Thanks for sharing the bluegill info. Taking my pawpaw out tomorrow and Tuesday.
Nice pic
Every day is a holiday and every meal is a picnic.
FYI, I also had four Crappie (that I released) that were between 15 and 16 inches. There's a lot of pressure in this small hole, but it reproduces really well. Half my fish were under 9 inches with many 4 to 5 inch fish. I also found a couple schools of tiny fry in the shallows, maybe Crappie?
Sounds like a great trip for the stout wind. Nice box of fish.
WTG DB, sometime I just let the wind push me around and drift fish that way.
Bob D, I had trouble getting a 5 pound anchor to hold a little bitty kayak yesterday. Once I found the gills it was great though. I anchored off the bank and the wind helped me make extra long cast in the clear water so I didn't spook the fish.
Always easier to cast down wind!!! Congrats on a great day DB.
Congrats on the great catch
