Default Need Help on choosing a new Depth Finder......to many units to choose from theese day

Guy's, I'm really confused with all the new Depth Finders on the market today and after owing a 15 year old Eagle? unit on the console and a Lorance in-dash unit for years I'm wanting to up-grade to something new! I know the body's of water I fish and know how to get to my old fishing holes but thinking I'd like to buy a new fish finder for Spider fishing and actually be able to see a well defined Arch for fish!! Depths I normally fish are between 2' to 60' and I'm open to any brand?

Looking to buy a Console Unit and Front Unit / Trolling Motor Unit?

Put a HB Helix with side imaging at the console and a Helix with down imaging on the front of boat. The Helix is the best bang for the buck out there right now....I just put one with 2 d sonar and down imaging and gps on front of my boat last year....I really like it......screen size depends on how much you want to spend.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

I just purchased the new Garmin striker 7sv. I have not had a chance to try it out but from what I have read it is supposed to be the best bang for your buck. The only downside is that it doesn't have the maps. But it has CHIRP, Down vu, and Side Vu. all for 499.99

Larry you must be slow in pressing the button. I hit my "Mark" button and it places a waypoint at the exact spot where I hit the button. I have done it going fast and going slow. I'm running a Humminbird 899ci HD SI combo up front and a 798ci HD SI at the helm, both with GPS.

I did not get a manual with the newer model. Both are 383 Chartploters, the newer one has the window for the SD Card and Switchfire mode and things not covered in the manual I do have. when the Mark button is hit a screen says there is no card to record the Waypoint, or something to that effect. to get something marked you have to go to Advanced Menu and play with it for 10 or 15 minutes. ---- to get something marked you throw A marker Bouey, Drop Anchor, Get out your Handy Can of Waypiont , Water surface Marking Paint to Spray the surface of the Lake. Find the Spot again with Sonar then Spray the lake.

I got one, haven't used it in years. Used it to find the warmest canals. After 40 plus years I learned which ones warm first with out it

Lowrance you can hook both units together and have way points on both just by marking on one unit. Also lowrance has a site you can download your sd card and you can look at others people downloaded. It also records your data while you are on the water so you can go back and look at Contour. I know a few guys with hummingbirds and the side image is not that good. Didn't show all brushpiles

I went with the Raymarine Dragonfly with built in Wi-Fi. Loaded Wi-Fish on my phone and it sees what the main unit sees in real time. Now I don't need the small HB I had on my trolling motor.
As a plus, it uses maps from several different companies. Navionics doesn't have all the canals shown when I fish most of the time. I've spoken with them several times, but they haven't fixed the problem yet. I'm using LIghthouse on the Dragonfly and it shows just about everything including ditches!
    Just my .02.
