My wife's company had there annual meeting at North Myrtle this week. So I get to drive a truck load of products down and back! Thursday morning right after a thunder storm goes through I head to Apache Pier. Tough conditions 60 degrees and 25 mile per hour wind out of the south east! Any way s I didn't get skunked. Using shrimp I ended up with 6 small croakers and one small trout for my efforts! Some regulars on the pier caught some whiting's! Fished till 2:30 then it was time to get cleaned up and load up the truck.

Fish tremble at the sound of my name
Sounds fun, i want to find a good charter after i arrive in july and fish for some flounder and grouper. Have never caught those species and heard they are good eating. Whats the best eating fish off sc in the saltwater?
Croaker or whiting. Fresh is hard to beat. Basically panfish. Bloodworm or tiny pieces of shrimp.
Croaker or whiting. Fresh is hard to beat. Basically panfish. Bloodworm or tiny pieces of shrimp. I like to put one in a rod holder and cast another rod. Use enough weight so the current bounces it along the bottom. It's like catching bream on steroids. Fun and good eats. Buy your shrimp fresh or net them. Don't buy old shrimp. You can eat leftover bait too.![]()
