Talked with a friend today who fished at s graysport wading yesterday. He said the game warden pulled up at the ramp late yesterday and checked them out along with 1 other boat that was there. He was all good but the other boat had about 15 short fish. Said it was over $3000 in fines. Guys were from out of state. I feel bad for em, but hooray for the good guys! It does happen.

Curious as to why you would feel sorry for them...They broke the law..They should pay the penalty...if more people are caught..They will think twice about breaking the laws that are put in place to conserve our resources for us and future generations

The same thing happened at Enid a few years ago from some guys from Missouri.....except their fine was about $8,000. They had to get money wired from home to pay the fine!

I don't feel "sorry" for them. I said I felt bad for them. I don't look at them as "bad" people. Good people make bad choices all the time. Those bad choices are painful to watch. I've made a lot of bad choices that came home to roost. I know how it feels. They're probably kicking themselves right now. They rightly suffered a just punishment and looking at the whole thing, I feel bad for em.

Boatbottom, this has been talked to death on here, and I've come down on a different side than most folks as far as our laws and their justness is concerned. But I can say, without any doubt in mind, that your quote here is the best thing I've read in these threads. All the "makes me sick" and "go get em" posts serve to rile people and will never prompt anyone to switch positions, and are more likely to cause trouble than cure it. If there are words that can move people to be more considerate and at least stop for a minute to think about your side of the debate, I believe you have chosen some of the best.

I, too, have made bad choices and paid for heavily for some of them.

    Kudos, Boatbottom. Dang good job.
