    Default Sardis report

May try to get to Sardis this next week. How is the crappie fishing? Are they swallow and spawning or is it about over? Plan on single pole fishing and curious if I can catch any. Thanks in advance for any info.

High water and they are spread out in the weeds and buck brush. Bad for fishing but its great for the fish. They are laying eggs everywhere.

Yes!! They were fishing up ditches and banks in whites bottom. For those that don't know rattlesnakes are heavy populated in the Sardis Reservoir boundaries!! The copperheads were laying around cypress trees. I have ran 4 cottonmouth sip a tree by bush hogging a big circle around a tree and just kept cutting in circles back to the tree!! I also have ran over cottonmouths copperheads and rattlesnakes with a 105 hp John deere tractor!! They just flatten out with the grass unless they are laying over a heavy stick or hard ground. If that's the case they POP like an under inflated ballon and guts ooze out!!

It's amazing that 9 out of 10 times they don't raise there head to look!! I think the vibration of the mower freaks them out!!

northern water snake looks a lot like a copperhead
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
