Vet......if your going to spider rig you need long poles to get your baits further away from the boat. I started with 10 footers then switched to 12 footers. Now I am using 14 footers......it makes a lot of difference.

I use mostly 10 foot and 7 footers. I have no problem with catching fish using these and my boat ain't camo color. However, I do have some 12 footer I use on cranks. Lots of it depends on where u located and what water u fish and the rest is personal preferences.

Probably would be, if you have no particular way to store or transport them otherwise. You'd just have to get a holder that was sized to that length of rod.

I got the old stove pipe type holders for the water. They hold about any size/length pole. Got these off ebay used. Cleaned thee up and thee look nu.

When running the road with the boat , I just bungee cord the poles to my deck. If traveling any distance,I usually just leave my boat home and bum a ride for someone who has pity on me.

When I'm on the water, I just lay my long rods on the wrap around deck. When I'm traveling to and fro, I break them down, put them in rod socks, and stick them in my under deck rod locker. When I rebuilt my boat I added two rod lockers just for this purpose. Both are 7'6", I can get 14'ers in them. My restriction is Illinois laws, max two rods person, some lakes are 3 per.

can you buy just the 8 slot piece to add more support on the driftmaster tip savers? mine seem to be tangled towards the tips and if I move it further towards the tip i will lose support in the middle and created a lot of bow in the rods.....

Move it back where you get good support. Go to Lowes or Home Depot and get a pack of the Velcro straps for taming computer wires. Split your pole tips like 4 each or 2 each however many you have and wrap one of those straps around those tips about a FT back from tip. No more tangles.
