I nominate this one for post of the year. I felt like I was there. Where is Lake St. John?

Huh, well that's what it was. It isn't always about how many fish in the live well. We made a trip up to Lake St. John to visit with Josh. We met his lovely wife and beautiful daughter, and his 6 year old daughter. We also got to visit and fish with his 90 year old neighbor Mrs. Williams.
The water in the lake was very high and the fish did not want to co-operate. So we amused ourselves anyway and had a great time. We fished in the fish house friday afternoon with Mrs. Williams but didn't land any fish. She hooked a good one that got tangled in some structure. I took her pole to the other side of the fish house to see if I could pull it loose with breaking off her line. We I did get it loose and the fish was still on it. I started to bring her the pole back but she told me to fight it figuring it was a large cat and would straighten the hook any way. Well fight it I did, for about five minutes and almost had it whipped. I got it near the surface a few time but it always dove back down. On one run it wrapped another piece of structure and this time straighten the hook. Well it was fun while it happened. I wish I could have videoed Mrs. Williams during the fight. She was very much more excited than I.
The cabin we rented from Mr. Charles was as cute as could be. It sets on the waters edge right next to his house. It was the best cabin we've ever stayed in, and even had a king size bed. He wanted to know when we would arrive so he could have coffee ready for us. He had everything we could have wanted and more than we expected. We have made another new friend. I highly recommend his place for a nice quiet day, weekend, or week. Mrs Charles was on the scene and make sure we had all me needed. He even went out of his way to get things we had forgotten.
Although we didn't catch much fish we came home with a bunch. Mrs Williams gave us a bag full of whole fryers she had caught and cleaned a couple of days ago and Mr. Charles sent us home with a couple of bags of catfish fillets. Who could ask for more. We are already looking forward to our next trip.
