    Default Wateree Bait

Can you catch bait with a casting net anywhere around the Wateree Creek boat landing? Thanks for your help.

I've seen many throwing nets around the bridge pilings looking for bait. The shad should start spawning up on the banks before long as well. Just look for them shimmering on the edges in the eraly morning hours.

I usually stay away from directly under the bridges. Lots a trees and brush that will eat up a net. Colonel crk bridge is a major hang up.

It's been a few years since I've done this, but I used to catch shad at night on the concrete boat ramps during cooler water temps. I guess the concrete holds a little heat?

Piles of bait in colonel creek, beaver creek and dutchmans creek. Not all the "big fish" are up in the river. .......
