I know we had some rain the other day but I didn’t expect to have muddy water on Watts Bar. I put the boat in anyhow and figured I would give it a shot and if nothing materialized I would just pull it out and go on home. Took about an hour to get that first hit but after I did, I focused on that depth range the rest of the day and eventually caught a good limit of crappie measuring up to 15 inches in length. Water temps ranged from 63 on up to 65 degrees at sunset but I just jotted down 64 degrees in my fishing log.
I’m not sure what was up with the catfish but I know I caught at least 15 of those things and even got broken off 4 times and straightened a few hooks before it was all over with. Adding them all up (and I’m guessing) I likely caught near 100 lbs of catfish.
It was pretty much dark when I got back to the house and I was just dying to try out my newest fish cleaning station. I managed to salvage of couple of huge sinks that were headed to the scrap yard and snatched them up. Since they are stainless steel, I just set one up beside my back deck and left it there to use as needed. I think this will work out pretty good.
I also wanted to shout out to Jason at Stealth Rod Holders.
Thanks again Jason for sponsoring the ETCC !
