    Default Boat registration in sc

Ok im sorry to bother you with uninteresting topics, but was doing some research today. Looks like Sc will require me to register my boat and motor in sc. My boat is already registered in mn but motor never has been which looks like i will have to get a title made in sc to be legal. Will my paperwork when i bought the boat, motor, and trailer new in mn be sufficient for a title to be generated? Mn does not title motors. It only says bill of sale or explanation needed for title. Will sc make me also re-register my trailer even though it has a lifetime mn registeration? And will i have to run two sets of numbers for mn and sc on the side of my boat, which im not crazy about? Thank you for the info. As such me of you know, im being stationed at shaw afb. I appreciate any answers to these specific questions.

To start, registering trailers is not required in SC. You never state whether or not you will be making SC you permanent residence or just temporary while stationed at Shaw. If permanent, you will be required to title and register both boat and motor. The bill of sale should be adequate, but to be certain I would place a call to the SCDNR title/registration division and ask a few pertinent questions. If your stay is only temporary, exceptions are made in SC for military personnel. Again, SCDNR will be your best place for these questions and answers.

all we can do is keep trying right. All i can do is learn as much as possible. I will be making some trips to lake hartwell while im in sc. One could only be so honored for a record, although dnr would have to meet me at the landing so i could release it.
