Thread: Boat speed?

Express XP200 with a 115 yammy, 45 is as fast as I have had it with 3 people and all my gear. Plenty for me and I think it will do a tad more.

One thing I never see anyone mention about running at high speeds is other than the drag of the water there's NO BRAKES !!

I have an Xpress 20 ft with 200SHO Yamaha 65.5 mph max. Typically 2 people and gear 61 mph. Neighbor has 18 ft Xpress with 115 4 stroke Yamaha 50 mph max , 2 people and gear 47,5 mph. Both ride smooth , but not quite as smooth as a good brand fiberglass bass boat. This is my 3rd Xpress and I recommend them. Never had any hull issues.

Got an xpress h18pfc with yam 115 and only get to 42-43 with 19 pitch prop. 4 batteries an a 112 terrova are killin my mph I believe. Still working on jack plate adjustments.

My Excel Bay Pro 203 with Suzuki 140 4-stroke will top out at 44 with my 3 blade 13 3/4"x21 SS prop and 42-43 with my 4 blade 13.5"X21 SS prop. My issue is 5 batteries (3 of them golf cart) and a full load of fuel, water in livewells, with just me or 1 passenger. The 3 big batteries under my center console are preventing it from getting all the lift I would need to pick up extra speed. It will take as much rough water as I dare to be in and get me and my passengers back to the ramp safely.

Ranger RT188, 115 Merc FS, 44-45 mph.
