    Default Chickamauga Lake report... 3 /23-26-27/ 16

A crappie report from Chickamauga Lake. Fishing was good this weekend including today and also reporting a trip from last Tuesday. Sorry for the late report.

3-23-16... A late trip with Debbie around 1:00 pm. It was very windy and almost dangerous in the main lake so we stayed tucked away in a slough. The bite was pretty good and Deb caught a bucket-mouth white crappie within five minutes. We caught more white crappie than black for a change. Location-location-location. A few of the black crappie were dark males sporting nice tuxedos. Crappie Dawgs and Panfish Assassins on 1/16 and 1/32 oz. Road Runner jig heads. All fish were released.

3-26-16... A solo trip. The bite was great. I caught seven species of fish and I'm thinking around 25 crappie and almost all were keepers - all black crappie The best jig colors were light but not very bright on this day. I kept a few fish for the freezer and released some of the larger females with eggs. Crappie Dawgs and Panfish Assassins on 1/32 oz. jig heads.

3-27-16... A short but productive trip. We put 31 black crappie in the boat and Debbie caught a "magnum" warmouth. It was her personal best and the largest I've ever seen - in my boat anyway. It was a little over 9.25 inches and a chunky heavy fish. Crappie Dawgs - Panfish Assassins - Bobby Garland jigs on 1/32 oz. jig heads. All fish were released.

    Life is good.
