Thread: Replacing / repairing lower deck on 1989 Bass Tracker

The deck on a Bass Tracker is plywood....yes I would think you would have to remove the console...The console will be fastened down with screws as well as the plywood deck.

What he said^^. I replaced me mine with aluminum.

On my 86 tracker it had screws that went all the way around the base of the console. I already had the new piece cut and carpet put on, I had a buddy hold up the console while I swapped the floor and then screwed it back down. Was very simple.

I have done several boats. I used wood but painted 2 coats of marine epoxy and hardener as this will last and not happen again. If you plan to keep the boat it's worth the $25. Also be sure to use SS screws.

I'm doing the same replacing the plywood floor in my camper. 2 coats of marine epoxy, top and bottom while sitting on saw horses. Sand before and between coats.

Did the floorboard extend all the way under the seats? They got to come out, too?

RustyJig; I have a soft spot in my floorboard also. If and when you start please take a few pictures of what it looks like and how you did it while you're doing this as it would help others here like me when we replace ours. Like you I have looked for information on this and have found only bits and pieces of information on replacing a floorboard in a bass tracker boat so far. Thanks very much for this post.
