Had some more fun with the kiddos tonight. Fished about 2 hrs in the evening. The cold temps lately have pushed the water temp back to 55-56 and the crappie back out to about 15-18 ft on timber or brush. Water looks REALLY GOOD now. Has a really good stain to it. Had to really work for 5 keepers out of 7 fish. All were caught on a White Rage Tail Jig. White caps were plentiful in the open lake areas.
One fish I caught has got to be the healthiest 11" crappie I have ever seen. Second fish down in the lineup.
I would post more details but they will have to wait till tomorrow. I'm beat! God gave me another great time with my children and wife and I got to feel that thump one more time. Thank you Lord!

Yes. I showed it to my wife and kids. They loved it! Thanks again for the publicity. I'm a big advocate for tville. Looking forward to spawn!
You also made it on the Crappie.com Facebook page !!
I just hope the popularity doesn't garner you a bunch of "followers" ... out on the lake![]()
I love Taylorsville Lake, too. Been fishing there since it opened. Seen a lot of changes in the Crappie population, numbers and sizes, and I'm excited that the fish are getting bigger & more numerous ... in spite of the seemingly yearly flooding occurring right around the spawning period. I'm just holding out hope that they are managing to spawn, somewhere/somehow, in spite of the flooding ... otherwise we may have a few years ahead of us where keepers will be few & far between.![]()

"D" LIKED above post
It wouldn't be the first time I've had "followers" on the water. I've literally been forced off my spot by someone once or twice while spider rigging. But that's ok. I've got my obsession of numbers out of my system. Last year we had 14 limits in 5 trips. That was because of the flooding last spring. Nobody caught many fish while it was flooded so we had a field day after June. This year I would like it to stay at normal pool throughout the spawn. I'd love to see my kids holding some colored up males and some females with fat bellies.
Great job, love seeing kids getting in on the action. They'll be taking us one day.
