    Default Spring Bayou WMA

We were in a Marksville a few days ago and decided to check out spring Bayou WMA. The winds were really blowing and the the water there looked a little high but VERY fishable. Locals said white perch fishing not too hot but bream and bass fishing there was good. If this a place worth dragging the boat to? I guess you gotta go to know…Too much high water around here and a cheap buffet in Marksville…the scales are starting to tip towards road trip…BC

I fished 5 trips this year there. Two Sundays ago I kept 6 sacs but caught 20. U can get out of wind there. Pmantle has posted several good trips from there. Sure will chime in. I'm not the best fishermen. Nice complex. Also they having national guard tournament this Saturday! Hope this helps and good luck. Fish were around cypress trees.

It's a fantastic spot for both spawn and post-spawn fishing. It can get a little crowded when it's on. They are about to experience a recordish type flood though. I would think fishing would be pretty tough right now and on through the extent of the high water. The Black River is going to have to come way down before things get better.

That's my guess. Heck, someone may be able to catch there in high water. I just know I cannot.
