What is the weirdest thing you've ever caught a crappie on? I got out on the kayak for the evening bite last night. I had two poles set for crappie, and my bait cast rod set for catfish or whatever... You know, big sinker, line, big big hook... I put two minnows on the hook, one through the back and one through the lips, then followed them up with one of those Powerbait balls you buy in the packages... they never work by the way. As soon as I dropped the line to the bottom, and reeled up a bit, the rod started bouncing. I picked it up and immediately thought I had a teeny tiny cat. When it came up to the top I was completely surprised. I never thought a crappie would be there. That was a little strange. All in all, I had a great night on the water. The wind was nice, I caught 5 total, this was the only one keeper (above 11 inches).
