Awesome! Thanks for all the help and replies guys. After looking at the TWRA pics above, it is definately a warmouth. I must say that has to be a first!. I thought for sure he was some type of hybrid smallmouth. Thanks again.
They may not be a hybrid smallmouth, but they sure do act like one at times
I don't know how many times I've had a Warmouth pick up my 6" worm or 4" plastic craw, and have me thinking it was a big 'ole Bass ... then send him flying completely over the boat with my "cross his eyes" hookset![]()
Or grab my crankbait and shake the fire out of the end of my rod as I reel it in![]()
Can't say as I've caught many Warmouth when fishing for Crappie ... but, I can wear out a marabou Roadrunner on their crazy cousin, the Green Sunfish ... especially if I'm casting right against the banks.

Rock Bass. Ha. I'm sure the website is right but it's been a Rock bass my whole life anyway!
I think I learned that from my grandfather or a friend of his when I caught one at 5-6 years old on a willow fly hatch and been calling it rock bass ever since then. You're right, they are tough and will strip drag on a lil spinner.
