Fished this afternoon with my dad. Water temp 70. Longline 1/16oz jigs in less then 10'. Anywhere from .8 to 1.4mph when it got less then 5' deep. Mostly back of larger pockets or small bay type areas. Color didn't seem to matter. Kept 12 over 10". Lots of smalls and a swarm of white bass and small stripers too boot . They were attacking jigs just hanging in the water at one point.

Enjoyed your report on Greenwood. LOL the white bass seem to be coming back strong and the perch are getting big enough to throw in the fryer

Didn't catch the first perch. Can't remember that happening in a long time at Gwood. White bass went in cooler. Striper were all about 10" long and released. Maybe the increase in striper stocking is slowing the perch a tad. These schools of little stripers are acting like tuna.

Did those white bass and stripers seem to hit more with faster speeds? Ive found the stripers to be ALOT more agressive when I'm pulling fast. Sounds like youre in need of some 1/32nd jigheads if youre gonna be running in that shallow of water. Congrats on the catch.

X2 on the lighter jigs. I like my jigs to have a larger then standard hook. Don't know the exact sizes but it's hard to find 1/32 with hooks I like. I like larger jig body's. Like the strike king shad pole curlytail and the larger bobby garland body's..... The striper and white bass were while going faster. That seems to be a pretty steady pattern I've found the last couple years. Maybe 1.2-1.5 is the best speed. Jigs were right at the surface. Blues were best color. May just be me but the less I fish with white the less perch I catch.

Sounds like a great afternoon with your dad! You're right about those little striper being super aggressive. This past summer/fall our brush was loaded with little striper. You couldn't get a minnow down without catching one. You could go through a 1/4 lb of minnows on one brush.
Hooking up every chance I get!
