Check out the Midsouth Tackle, Hunting and Boat show thread in the Oklahoma forum. It was started by Starfish, that is Ken, the one selling the rods. I believe he is selling them this week at the show also at a discounted rate (you will want to confirm that thru Ken) I have two Pro Series rods and a 12' rod on the way. I love the Pro Series. Have used Outlaw and Ozark rods for a while now and they are both excellent rods but for me, the Huckabee rods handle the heavier jig heads better by not having so much give in the tip. They feel great when holding for hours and for me, my hand or arms don't get tired. I wrap the top of my handles with RodWrap or Lizard Skins(baseball handle wrap) and really like the added grip it provides and it makes it a little larger which I like since I am a larger guy.

If you use braid, are you using a mono leader? If so how long.

I'm not as talented as Redge with the Braid, he can make it work most of the time. Works great for me with Mono.

It works 90% with braid for me also. And if it doesn't work, I just pull till the hook straightens and still get ma jig back!

Just braid, no mono. Pretty sure the rubber band trick is you just pull the line until it is tight and then let go of it which shoots it like a rubber band in hopes it dislodges the jighead. Correct me if I'm wrong.

thats pretty much the size of it. Vertical is best over the snag. Hold the line pretty tight and pop it like a rubber band. Sometimes it shoots off right away and others it takes some time. Then there are others when you set the hook since jerks are free you just have to break it loose......Ranger

I use 10/2 braid on some of my spinning rods but still use Viscious panfish 8 or 10 lb on my Huckabee rods with flippin switch baitcasters. I really like the Huckabees but just prefer the feel of the Viscious co-polymer on them. I used Silver Thread for years but prefer the yellow color. I have two of the older Pulling rods and one of the Pro Series (on the way.) One of my Pulling rods had a tip broken off about three inches back. I was going to order another tip but repaired it and now like it better than the other. They are very good rods!

When I get hung with braid I have a cut off broom handle that I wrap the line around 3-4 times and pull. You would be surprised how 10/2 will straighten out a jig. Guess I just don't have the rubber band touch.
