    Default 3-12,,cane creek report

I havent been crappie fishing since october and might have forgot how.Got to the lake at 8 ,had to wait a bit for folks at the landing..Lines in the water bout 8:15(longlining) and first fish in the boat at 8:19,,a nice female mabey 11 inch . For us old enough to remember watching"looney tunes cartoons" well"thats all folks". caught one catfish and the crappie,,,had to leave by 11 for other stuff.marked lots of fish but deep,,right on the bottom,18 to 20 ft.I tried adding another 1/16th oz of weight to get deeper but got hung a few times....Anyway the lord blessed me with a nice day on the water,,I told a guy I did some GOOD fishing, just wasnt much catching going on.I know, the thread is useless without "pichers"" ,,so here is my first mate today with all the crappie we caught. . Spoke with two other guys/boats both had one also.

I'm surprised your 1st mate didn't eat the catch.
I thought about going today but was already seduced to do a bamboo drop

Been some odd fishing days this year. Good to hear you were able to get on the water for awhile.

Maybe the navigator was off track! Still you got out and fished while I was at work. When you say cane creek you talking about NC right? I know cane creek below Hwy 9 bridge Lancaster SC is not big enough to turn around in much less longline in. Thanks for the story and picture. Maybe we'll get a night trip lined up and you can make it up again this spring or summer.

Sam. Good to hear from you again. Will always remember you taking me and my Grandson out fishing for cats. Bless ya. Days you have them mark but they don't bite or cant figure it out sure gets frustrating. O well sure beats a good day at work for sure.
