    Default Tenn-Tom Crappie

With all the talk on here about the four big COE lakes, we don't say a whole bunch about the Tenn-Tom or I don't see it anyway.

Does anybody fish it regularly? Me and my pop used to go through West Point and I think we launched around Waverly, but that was twenty or twenty-five years ago so I could be wrong. We caught some good fish up Tibby and some of the sloughs around that area. I don't even know if I could find my way back to some of those places. No telling what it looks like now.

So...anybody fish it? Are there still fish in it? Heck, is there water in it?

I have fished it with Donnie several times....yes there is still fish in it....Its a great place to single pole. I did some fishing in some sloughs off of the old river south of Fulton last year.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

    Default Tenn-Tom Crappie

A friend and I caught these on the Ten Tom last Saturday. We kept 26 crappie and 1 big stripe. Fished up a lb of minnows and probably threw back 50. The River doesn't get a lot of hype because the fish tend to average smaller than the big 4, but it is where I go to put fish in the freezer to eat. I will add this, river fish constantly move, if you can consistently catch fish on the river you can catch fish anywhere. Learn to fish it and it will make you a better feeshrman!

I've always wanted to fish it. Work on towboats for a living and get to push barges up it from Mobile through Pickwick up to Decatur, so I get to see it in it's entirety every few weeks. Lots of beautiful water throughout.

Man alive, I'm gonna have to get pop ready for a river trip. It'll be nice to try something different for a change.

    Thanks for the replies guys.

Single poling is all we ever do, and we managed to catch fish. Well, we did. That ain't to say that we will. I don't think it was because we are good though. I'm crediting the Man-Upstairs with it. Talked to my dad this morning about heading over. He is itching to get over to Enid (where I always fish) and I'm itching to get over there (where I never fish).

Looks like we got at least two fishing trips to look forward to anyway!
