I fish 1/8 oz - 1/4 oz anywhere from size 1 to 2/0. Doesn't matter what head you use for this bait. Up to what you like or feel comfortable with. Last year I mainly fished weedless round heads. This year I'm going back to mainly non weedless. DStreet turned me onto egg heads but I find the barb area is awfully fat. Been looking at the chub head which is a lot like the egg head but with less barb area. Thinking I can convert it to a wireguard which I'm also going to this year. Once a bait is on a wirekeeper it is staying. Also getting into underspins too.
Guys I along with Jeff Williams have been working hand in hand with Pro Built Jig and have designed the New Pro Series Big Eye Jig by Fle Fly to match each size of the Crappie Kicker and Go Go Minnow. For instance the 2" we have a 1/16oz with a #2 hook. 21/2" a 1/8oz with a #1 hook. 3" the 1/8oz or the 3/16oz with a 1/0 hook works well. The 4" I use the 1/4oz with a 3/0 hook designed just for this bait. Several shops now have these baits on hand and more everyday. I will say they will be coming to Academy soon as well. You can also still find them online at FleFly Tackle FLE FLY. As far as the videos you were referring too they can be found on flefly channel on YouTube and also on flefly's website........Ranger

Have used the kickers for a while now. (3" only. Didn't have the 4" yet). Haven't noticed much difference in jig head. Just match the weight to what's needed for the day. 3/16 or 1/4 is my favorite.
