west point report anyone
Hey guys, does anyone have a recent West Point report? Heading over there this week with my dad on our annual four day trip over there and was wondering if anyone could give us a few pointers. According to the weather report we're going to get wet but we're going to try it anyway. Thanks.

A friend of mine was over there this past weekend fishing in Yellow Jacket. They caught close to 100 in 2 days long lining double 1/16th with acid rain and Bumble bee.

Thanks TnT. We will try in Yellow Jacket. Thanks again.

Just talked with a co-worker that is in Jackson Creek now. He has caught about 25 so far this morning averaging about 3/4 lb per fish.

Hey Slim, looks like we need to head to West Point

West Point is my favorite lake and we always go at least 1-2 times per year, sometimes more. Planning to go the weekend of 3/19. Last report I heard from there 2 weeks ago was good, but didn't get specific info.
The creeks that seem to always do well if weather & water conditions are good: YellowJacket, Dixie, & Whitewater. Always manage to catch a few, but size varies. Have caught 100-200 in a day to only keep 20-30 decent fish. And the next time, catch a limit of 9" plus in 2-3 hours.
The ones that have been hit or miss for us: Stroud, Veasy, Maple, Wedhakee, Wilson. Have caught some fine fish in all of these, but it can be hit or miss. The biggest fish I ever caught was in Veasy (2.4 lbs). Fishing partner caught a 2.5 there last year.
Have never fished up the river side, but hear it can be good also.

It was good today just like last week. Water temp was 57 starting out and well over 60 when I left. I used darker colors and anything with blue/chartreuse. Last week fish were caught at 10 to 14 feet in 15 to 23 feet of water. Today I fished anywhere from 10 to 23 feet. Fish were shallower today. When the sun came up fish were on the sunny side of the creek, then moved around and were on both sides after a couple of hours. With 80 degrees this week not doubt the shallows will be lit up. Wind was up at 10:00 but did not slow the bite much. I want to hit Wehadkee sometime this week. Where you at Detailman?

Culled many fish today and the hybrids were there too. Caught 22 hybrids which were the main reason I tied so many lines. 4 were in the 3 to 4 pound range. Twice they took half my lines out.

Forgot, If you are in Yellow jacket fish Beech when they go shallow. Most of Beech is 10 feet or less.

Thanks guys, I have fished in most of the creeks mentioned but I hadn't heard any reports lately so I didn't know where I should start. we will be over there from Thursday through Sunday so I'm sure we will find them. I will give a report when we get back. Thanks again fellows, y'all were a big help.
