Arrived on the lake at sunrise wind was about 5 mph out of the N/E. about 49 degrees
Fishing started slow on long lines until I added 1/2 oz slip sinkers ahead of a 30" leader and pulling Blue and Chartreuse and Pink and Chartreuse Sliders 23' behind the boat at 1.1 mph. Fishing this new setup started out with a bang having two or three 13" to 15" crappie on at a time. Fishing was great and by 10:30 I had over 25 13" to 17" crappie in the box, more then I needed so I took all the large egg filled females and put 10 to 15 back in the lake to reproduce for another year
I still brought home 13 very nice crappie for our annual fish fry
My friend Bill and I had the fish cleaned and boat gassed by 12:30 in time for lunch and another great day of memories
Great day fer sure!
My thought exactly, a great day. Will be using the canoe tomorrow, wish me luck.

Nice outing, neat fish cleaning table as well...
crappie down !
There's a stainless sink and 1 hp grinder on other end makes cleaning a snap. I used all stainless because of mold easy to keep clean and will last
Thanks for that report there waterboy, nice catch, nice to see you had a great day out there and kinda looks like you had a few with row, guess that maybe they are fixing to spawn there.
I put 10 to 15 large females back into the lake and only tried to keep spawned out fish but when trying to catch them in my live box easy to miss a couple out of the swimming fish, There were only 3 with roe when I cleaned them, about 50% of total I caught were spawned out. The day before I caught several males with their tails damaged from fanning the eggs, they were back in deep water.
