A friend called me last Thursday to tell me he caught a couple walleye and a northern about a week ago in Eaton Rapids at the dam, he was using a Rapala x-rap in pink, he mentioned we should go sometime. So I called him back Saturday night to see if he was up for fishing Sunday, yes he was, so off we went at 9:00.
Notice I didn't say report in the topic?....we got skunked, zilch, zero, nada. However it was fun to get out and cast some lures into soft water. We tried everywhere in the town of Eaton Rapids as well as fishing at the Smithville dam.
Even though we had nothing to show for our efforts, getting out there and enjoying the open water was inspiration enough that soon the remaining ice will be gone and spring 2016 will soon be upon us.
