I've not caught a crappie on griffin in two days. Gonna be a heck of an event. Glad wife's bringing sandwiches.

Tough day out there today. Decided yesterday to pull all my trolling stuff off boat and we single poled all morning. Grand total for us was 4 specks biggest was 10.5" and 2 bream. Had a lot of fun and saw a bunch of wildlife in all the canals we fished.

We had a great day. As we arrived at the event at the state park we were immediately flagged down by Huntinslabs and RoosterTail who wanted to give mom house warming presents. She was absolutely shocked, and absolutely loved it. I'll put together a picture of all the gifts together with her. It really made her week as it's been a little rough NOT finding a house for her that she likes.

It was a big fish tournament where the winners received BnM fishing poles. Some really great ones too like the 14 ft Uncle Bucks Jiggin' pole, my personal favorite for one poling.

Alex took second place and did select that previously mentioned jiggin' pole. Good choice especially when you're fishin' with the ShuMeister.

Warren got third place. Thanks for making it out Warren and Tommy.

And CG1 won fourth for having the best cake!

CG1 brought some great anniversary cake. It was broken into even before everyone was done eating the regular stuff.

It was a last minute deal I set up so we did not have a tremendous turnout, but I'd like to thank everyone for coming out. The fishing was fun (especially for those that caught fish), but the comradery was even more fun.

Speckanator did not have any takers for his Yeahtee Cooler. I think he was taking raffle tickets for it and no-one bit, not even the fish!

But the fun did not stop there. The Crappie.com party continued in Oklahoma.

And in Louisiana where "G" filled in for Billbob in the picture department.

    Congratulations to everyone who participated.
It was a tough day fishing, especially when the top Griffin fishermen was out fished by "outsiders"
Only three single fish made it to the scales:

    Speckanator 14.4 ounces
    Alex 12.3 ounces
    Warren 11.9 ounces.

with one that had to leave before the scales arrived. Don't think that we had an event with this disappointing results. BUT it was great fellowship.

Great time today...Thanks for sliders, pins, and prizes...and a special thanks to Ed and his entire family for putting on a great event. It was nice to see old friends I haven't seen in a long time. The fishing as tough but that's fishing!

Here's the pic of mom with all her housewarming goodies. She loves each and every one of them. She particularly likes Flycaster little card he wrote a little something nice in to her. She's shown it to me three times already. Thank you all again for making my moms day today. Specktacklure, I'll betcha she never cuts one thing on that Crappie cutting board you gave her, she thinks it's too nice to leave cut marks on.

Sorry I missed everyone today. I really missed the boat cuz I would have gotten to meet CG1. I had something come up yesterday that I had to attend to today and I even had to postpone a trip with my good friend Ernie. It all worked out and I'll have to catch up on everyone next time. Glad everyone had a good time even though the fish decided to be tough.Mom did good with the goodies for the new place, hope y'all find someplace you can all be happy. I got to get in my boat soon......

Just in case you did not notice, this was an event supported by our great sponsors, and specifically for this event, I handed out Sliders! And I'm not talking about White Castle sliders, I'm talking about the good ones that catch Crappie.
