Mark, for the money I really like these and they are a sponsor on CDC. It comes with two spools which is handy. I ordered when they had free shipping. I paired them with my Pinnacle Vision rods for tighlining but I like the way they cast and retrieve so I put a couple on ultra light spinning rods too.

If you are going to be using the same rods/reels for long lining and tight lining, The okuma reels Ray mentioned would work just fine, I have several of the shimano 2000 from academy that cost 12.99 that work just fine... I did however buy a few of the mr crappie solo reels the ones that look like fly reels, after I watched that video of Mr. Ed Duke using basically the same reels... these are just for tight lining havent used them yet though.

Well I know some don't like to buy from China ,but you may want to look at the reels on Ebay. Two to look at is Yomores and Yumoshi they are ten ball bearing reels. I have purchased some each they are very good reels. Price around ten dollars, but it takes about three to four weeks to get the reels, but worth the wait. The 1000 model are good for jig poles and tightlining the 2000 are good for trolling and tightling.

I have had two Slab Daddy underspin reels. They were great for awhile but lasted less than a year.
