    Default Lake Verrett/Bayou Sherman...2/20...Why Am I Posting.....

this skimpy catch....it certainly can't compete with all the huge catches everyone has been posting lately.....but I did go and have a good time out.....three bass tournaments in the area that day so naturally the banks stayed muddied up.....launched at Attakapas around 7:30....fog was so bad I had to use my GPS to navigate.....fished the south end of Verrett in spots I had found sacs years before.....couldn't buy a bite (shiners)....took several pics there....moved on to Bayou Sherman....don't remember how many I caught but I kept 7.....big one 13" (female)....the rest were males...fished about 12 " deep....quit about 1....the bayou pic is 4 Mile Bayou in the idle zone....

PS I'm sure you did have a good time just being out on the water. I'll take that catch any day, that's some pretty fish. I was there this weekend and found the females thinning and figured they were releasing eggs. What do you think sir? Thanks for the pics, makes me want to get back out there.

Reports I got were that they spawned down there 2 weeks ago.....the males I got were up shallow.....as I eased out into the main bayou (Sherman), I saw tons of fish from the bottom to the top of the water but couldn't catch.....I think the males are on the bank and the females are staging in the deeper water.....question is, when will they move up....

Good mess for supper, Mr. Bruce. Congratulations! Good to hear you're back on the water again. How is that eye? Doing better I hope.
