Those little ones eat taste just like the big ones. Probably taking out some smaller fish would help the lake up to a point.

I was the one in a silver boat with a wife and a dog. Caught 27 and kept 13. All on the smaller side but decent keepers. Biggest prolly a pound as well

I put in when the rain stopped about 8:30. Finished my limit at 3:00. I had one around 1.5 5 at a pound and the rest were biggest of the small fish. It felt like I caught well over a hundred.

Otherwise, it will have to go through a cycle like it and many lakes do where the fishing gets to such poor quality that the fishing pressure is reduced to the point that the fish can rebound in numbers and age.
I remember when they stocked tilapia. Back then it didn't get near the pressure it does now. I keep hoping it'll go back to that.

I see a lot of people keeping the 6"-8" fish. I prefer the 10-11" to eat. I catch a lot of them smaller than 6" though.

I'm hoping to get down there soon. Have to wait for a day that's not to windy since my boat motor is shot. I have to use just the trolling motor, and don't want to end up with a dead battery.

Send me a pm with what's going on with your boat motor.
    I'd rather be fishing.

Anyone got a fishing report on Hogue? I see a chance to get away tomorrow.

I was there on Monday, only caught 8 small crappie, of course wind was out of the east so expected slow fishing. Water surface temp was 47F at 8 am and surface warmed to 52.6F by the time I left at noon. Wednesday and Friday fished Poinsett, and did a little better with the wind still out of the east, but at least everything I caught was 11 to 14 inches. Fish were still in deep water at Poinsett and suspending at about 17 feet right at the thermocline.
