Anyone else get in on the heatwave crappie?
Man it felt good to leave the bibs and jacket in the truck. Didn't break out my flippy floppy's but the thought crossed my mind on Saturday!
Made it out to a local lake Saturday evening, historically I've caught nothing but dinks on this lake. But hey you never know what happens when the water warms up so quickly, and I like to check on them once or twice a year. To my surprise I boated 8 or 9 pretty good fish in quick fashion, I didn't have much time but saw some potential. I called birdy to go the next day and we headed out about 10:00. We put a pretty good woopin' on them, ended up with 47. It's amazing how skinny in the water column these fish will go on days like these!

Those look like Lake Mattoon crappie to me.
