Default The Tchefuncte Queen and I

Got to my River mid morning. Conditions perfect. Muddy water, a pretty stiff wind , the water level about normal, Cloudy and maybe some fog too.

Pull into my first canal and who is already checkin it out but Mr.sac531 and the wife that is. Tells me it's slow. I say I gotta do something differant today. I'm think en rice field gold. Haven't been this winter. Ya gotta go to know.

Hit a few spots on the way down river. A bass here a sac there. Grumpy always good for a few.

A few boats at or close to the weir good sign. Idle on by, I'm going to the bridges. I'm make the last left turn to the bridge and I got another fish er person right there. Good spot I said, caught plenty on those points.

Make it to the bridge and three more boats running and gunning. I ask myself why, ya only got maybe three feet of water back here. Caught a couple of nice goggles on the wood bridge pilings. A sac there too. Made a serious effort swimming my three tail. Only two small sacs took the bait.

Clean upped a little on the way out. Folks why ya gotta thrash my river?

Well I say I'm going back up river. On the way out of the rice field nobody at the weir. Good ,I'm gonna see if the bass fish want my tube. Yep they bit. Played with em for a little while and kept two of the bigger one's.

Back up river looking for some better water, found it at the back of a oxbow. One problem, got a fish person back there. I ask how ya doing? Got 18. I ask shallow? He says yes. I got my cork pole out and got in line. caught two small males. Moved up river some more to another oxbow and started shallow with the cork. Lots a fish most on the small side.

If you go, make sure you fish the cypress and gums all the way around. They are there.

Ohh the skitters are out in force-too.
