    Default Black Lake 2-18-16

Well after two weeks I finally felt like fishing again. I have been having a lot of back pain and also had a severe case of gout in my right knee. So bad I couldn't bend it for about 8 days. Doc gave me some meds on Tuesday and I can bend it again so I decided to go fishing.

Started fishing about 6:45 and had three good fish including a 1lb 14 oz beauty before 8:00, then nothing until 11:00. Then between 11:00 and 12:15 I caught 13 more good fish including a 1lb 13 oz fish.

Caught most of them on red/chartreuse hair jig (my jig) and a blue thunder that I dyed the tail chartreuse on. Fishing 11-12 feet of water and catching fish right on bottom.

I fished about 1/4 mile west of Hwy 9 bridge. More boat than a fellow could count. I guess I should have gone with Maxwell328. But I had a great time and caught enough fish to feed us 4-5 times. I'm just glad the Lord healed my knee so I could fish again. Now on to the orthopedic surgeon on the 29th of Feb. to see what he want to do with my back.

Nice mess of fish.. Congrats on the catch. and sorry about the gout.. I been fighting kidney stones for the last 6 months and when it started they thought they were uric acid stones and they prescribed me allopurinol for it, and when i researched the drug, i found out that is what they use to treat gout also.. Turned out to be calcium stones, so i quit taking them.

Those Black Lake fish are some of the thickest I have ever seen.

Way to go Pastor. Looks like struggling through the pain had rewards.
