Purple and chartreuse 2" Southern Pro umbrella tube with a 1/8 oz. jig (insert) and a small swivel 24 to 30 inches above the jig. Nothing else, especially no minner!

Rumor has it, once you get the scent of a minner on a Nimrod Special, it is just best to throw that one away and tie on a fresh one. With no minners in the boat, you have less chance of ruining a jig by accidently getting minner scent on it. Besides, when operating a Nimrod special properly, you'll be too busy catching to tip with a minnow, or nibble. Most times you will be too busy slanging fish in the boat to pick up the net (if you know what I mean).

Nimrod has also shared his knowledge with me and I will tell you the "Nimrid Special" works on Beaver lake too. But, on lake Nimrod, it's lights out. He is the king mentor in my book!
