    Default CAPT'N CAT 2/13/16

Took a couple of my buddy's out today chasing the ole blue cat! We got up early went and found bait (shad that weighs about 2lbs each). Cut those shad up In "palm sized hunks" and throw on a 7/0 octopus hook by Gamakatsu. We rode around and found an 80ft sour-hole that had been cut n the sand with it only 40ft directly on the upstream side of the hole. The hole had fish in it LIKE BEES!!!! We anchored out (anchor held this time) and tossed the first hook in the water around noonish. At 1315 we were leaving with out 3 man limit of catfish!!!! It was fast and furious man! We had 3 that were over 20lbs! Only 3 that were UNDER 10lbs. They were some heavy hitters! Bury the rods! I tried to get my company to release the bigger fish 15lbs plus.....but he is a bank fisherman and don't come into contact with that many fish in a trip and he said he not turning nuttin back! He is 7 foot 1 inch tall and 420lbs so I didn't argue with the man! The meat will get eaten for sure! The smile on their faces says it all! We hammered em, it was definitely a trip I will remember for the rest of my life!

Now that is how you guide someone on a catfishing trip. One of the best spread of Blues I ever seen. Great Job Slade.

Arkansas River. Water does not appear to be running very swift down here around dumas but Its alot more swift than ya think. I think that is what is forcing them big blues into the hole. Just got lucky and found it. It has never been there before. The river has changed alot from last year to this year. Thanks for the kind words guys!

What kind of a boat were you using to haul all those catfish and that big guy??? I think you may have been over loaded.

A pretty good fishing trip I'm guessing

WOW! I would have been tickled catching 2lb shad.
