Thread: Hitch a Crappie ride?!

Hey guys. I'm here to ask a BIG favor from you. I know this is maybe a little strange, and you can't trust just anybody, so I'll let you know a little about me.

My name is, Brian. I just moved to Calera, AL a few months ago with my new fiance. I have been fishing off the banks and Piers on Lay Lake (Bees Wax Creek) area. I see these nice Jon Boats float on by and trolling for Crappie and I just day dream. I have been taking my two beautiful daughters along and showing them how daddy grew up. They like it. My big girl caught her first Crappie last weekend! She was so happy.

I grew up fishing for Crappie with my grandfather since the age of about 8 to 25. I am now 37. Well, long story short, my grandfather had just purchased this very nice and expensive Bass Tracker. It was awesome. Well, he soon after that had a stroke and couldn't talk. I asked him if I could have his boat and he couldn't speak or write, but nodded his head, "YES". Well, my uncle took the boat as they lived together, and he just let it sit up and rot. I never spoke to him again. That boat was close to my heart ya know.

Well, now I fish from time to time and can't really bring home dinner like I used to. I like to troll and have my own tackle. I would love to tag along with someone and maybe gain a fishing buddy too. I'm a great guy. I work for Forestry and fight wildfires. I used to work with the Game Wardens, so I know the laws of the waterways and how to carry myself on a boat. I do have my fishing license. If you are around the Calera area or Montgomery area, I would love to say hi and maybe tag along sometime. Let me know and I'll get my pole!
