Thread: Please slow down

A farmer who had lived way out in the country on the gravel faced a dilemma after they paved the road in front of his house. He had always let his chickens run loose and they would get out in the gravel road, but the cars had to drive so slow on the gravel that the chickens had time to get out of the way. After the road was paved the cars would speed by and any chickens in the road just got ran over.

He finally went and complained to the County Sheriff and asked the Sheriff if he would put up a sign to slow people down. The Sheriff said he would, so he went out and put a a SLOW Children Playing sign. After a few weeks the old farmer called back and said this hasn't helped. People are still speeding and running over my chickens, can you do something else. The sheriff said yes and came out and posted a Slow School Zone sign. After a few weeks the farmer called back and said that people were still speeding, and hitting his chickens, and asked the sheriff if he could put up his own sign. The Sheriff said yes.

A couple months went by and the sheriff didn't hear from the farmer so he though he would drive out and see what the farmer had done to cure the problem with speeders. Just as the sheriff got to the old farmers property, there was a big sign that said "NUDIST COLONY, watch for chicks".
